This is not part of any storyline. Sherri Martel who was with the then-called WWF(World Wresting Federation)now known as
WWE(World Wrestling Entertainment)died at the age of 49. Way too young. She died of as-yet-to-be-determined causes says Jim Ross in his blog.
I never met the woman but do recall her from watching wrestling as a kid(because my mom always watched wrestling so I've been hooked ever since)when Sherri Martel was Shawn Michaels' manager.
I have no other memories of Sherri Martel other than what I saw her do on TV but she knew how to piss me off at times. And that's what a great performer does. Gets audience reaction whether the fans are watching in the arena or on TV. If there's a God(and I've been wondering a lot about that lately but that's a separate issue and blog in itself)then God rest your soul Sherri.
